Job Qualification Requirements:
High School graduate with at least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Forklift Operator and involving the use of counterbalance and reach forklifts.. Must have a valid certification for Powered Industrial Truck Forklift & Powered Pallet Jack (Class I, II & III). Must demonstrate expertise in driving and navigating the counterbalance and reach forklift safely in a tight space inside the cold storage warehouse/walk-in freezer. Must be able to lift 50 to 80 lbs frequently and up to 90 lbs occasionally. Must be able to work inside the cold storage warehouse/walk-in freezer for long hours. Must possess or be able to obtain food handler certification. Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Must pass a Forklift Operator Skills Evaluation/Performance test for both the Standing Electric Reach Forklift and the Counterbalance Forklift conducted within our facility.

Set up and inspect material moving machines such as forklifts and powered pallet jacks before use in a food wholesaler’s cold storage warehouse. Control counterbalance forklift, reach forklift, and powered pallet jacks with hand levers, steering wheels, and/or foot pedals. Using the counterbalance forklift, reach forklift or powered pallet jack, move products according to a plan and schedule within the cold storage warehouse. After products are unloaded from container to pallets, move them to the warehouse using the counterbalance forklift, reach forklift or powered pallet jack. Move products on pallets from the cold storage warehouse to the loading dock or into delivery trucks using the counterbalance forklift, reach forklift or powered pallet jack Keep a note of products being moved and to where they are moved.
